Knowing the Voice of Your Father
John 10:1-4, NASB 1995
1“Truly, truly, I say to you, he who does not enter by the door into the fold of the sheep, but climbs up some other way, he is a thief and a robber. 2 But he who enters by the door is a shepherd of the sheep. 3 To him the doorkeeper opens, and the sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. 4 When he puts forth all his own, he goes ahead of them, and the sheep follow him because they know his voice.

The practice of knowing the voice of your Father is about learning how to freely receive His various ways of communications and how to discern His voice from others. The Lord is always communicating with us, and He invites us to grow in communicating with Him.
How To Receive & Discern Communication From The Lord
We believe personal interaction with the Lord is fundamental to every believer's walk. Increasing our ability to recognize, discern, and understand God's communication is essential to move towards Christ-likeness. The teaching in this section focuses on the different ways the Lord interacts with us as His people.
How do I grow in recognizing the Lord's voice?
Matthew 7:7–11 NASB 1995
7 “Ask, and it will be given to you; seek, and you will find; knock, and it will be opened to you. 8 For everyone who asks receives, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knocks it will be opened. 9 Or what man is there among you who, when his son asks for a loaf, will give him a stone? 10 Or if he asks for a fish, he will not give him a snake, will he? 11 If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your Father who is in heaven give what is good to those who ask Him!
Scripture promises that when we seek the Lord, He will respond to our searching. We have collected a series of books we recommend for those desiring to recognize the voice of the Lord.
